Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. This takes about 3-5 minutes.
  • Pat salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for getting crispy edges and helping seasonings stick.
  • Rub each fillet with olive oil on all sides. This helps the seasonings adhere and promotes browning.
  • Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Sprinkle evenly over the salmon, pressing gently to help spices stick.
  • Place salmon in the air fryer basket, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Leave space between pieces for air circulation.
  • Air fry for 7-9 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon. No need to flip during cooking.
  • Check for doneness - salmon should reach 145°F internal temperature and flake easily with a fork.
  • Remove carefully and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

Leave Space Between Fillets Air needs to circulate around each piece. Overcrowding leads to uneven cooking results.
