Ingredients
  

  • 1 large French bread loaf about 12 inches
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or preferred toppings
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers optional
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms optional
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating two long halves with a flat surface. If the loaf is very thick, you can also cut each half into smaller pieces for individual servings. Lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil to add flavor and help crisp the bread during baking.
  • Add the sauce: Spread pizza sauce evenly over each bread half, making sure to cover the surface completely but leaving about 1/2 inch border around the edges to prevent overflow during baking. For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder over the sauce.
  • Layer the toppings: Start with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy bite. Add your choice of toppings, such as pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms. You can mix and match toppings according to taste—just avoid overloading the bread to ensure it cooks evenly.
  • Season the pizza: Sprinkle dried oregano evenly over the toppings for a classic Italian flavor. You can also add a light drizzle of olive oil on top to enhance the richness of the cheese and toppings.
  • Bake the pizza: Place the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and slightly golden around the edges. If you prefer a crispier top, switch to the broil setting for the last 1–2 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  • Serve and enjoy: Remove the French Bread Pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut into portions. Serve warm as a fun family meal or a quick snack. Optional: garnish with fresh basil or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
