Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika optional
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6–7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F or 75°C). Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  • Return the chicken breasts to the pan. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the chicken and cook for 1–2 more minutes so the flavors soak in.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices if desired. Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed veggies.

Notes

  1. Pound the chicken breast to even thickness so it cooks evenly and quickly without drying out.
  2. Don’t overcrowd the pan—give the chicken space to sear and brown properly for flavor.
