Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk of choice dairy or plant-based
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt plain or flavored, for extra protein
  • 2 scoops vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons nut butter peanut, almond, or cashew
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh fruit nuts, or granola for topping (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the base: In a large mixing bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir the dry ingredients well to ensure the protein powder is evenly distributed.
  • Add wet ingredients: Pour in the milk, then add the Greek yogurt and nut butter. Mix slowly at first to break up the protein powder clumps, then stir thoroughly until you have a smooth and creamy mixture. If you prefer extra sweetness, drizzle in honey or maple syrup at this stage.
  • Rest and thicken: Cover the bowl or seal the jar with a lid. Place in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight. This allows the oats and chia seeds to soak up the liquid, creating a thick, pudding-like texture.
  • Check consistency: In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture seems too thick, add a splash of extra milk to loosen it up. If it’s too thin, you can mix in more yogurt or a few spoonfuls of oats and let it sit for 10–15 minutes before serving.
  • Serve and enjoy: Spoon into bowls or enjoy straight from the jar. Top with your favorite fruits like berries, banana slices, or apple chunks. You can also sprinkle on nuts, seeds, or a handful of granola for extra crunch.
