Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • 2 tablespoons water only if using cornstarch
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5–6 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add the honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir and simmer the mixture for 2–3 minutes.
  • (Optional) If you like a thicker glaze, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water, then stir it into the pan. Let the sauce bubble for 1–2 minutes until thick.
  • Return the chicken to the pan. Spoon the sauce over each piece and cook for another 2–3 minutes to let the flavors soak in.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
